MDCI will be welcoming back to Bahrain Dr Mustapha Koriba who will be delivering the University of Hull Executive MBA module on Managing Holistically in Bahrain between 12th-15th October 2016.
Management in the 21st century is essentially about accepting the ongoing nature of change and the resultant complexity this brings to all aspects of the management task. Previous generations of managers lived in simpler times: people worked to longer time frames and the solution that you created to tackle a given problem could probably be used again the next time the same or a similar problem emerged.
Today’s managers operate in more complex times: they have to cope with an ever increasing rate of change and a world without barriers. Hence managers need to be effective problem solvers and decision makers if they are to survive in this rapidly changing, global environment.
In the first part of the module systems theory is introduced and students are introduced to range of different paradigms and associated systems methodologies and taught how to make sense of these in terms of a critical systems approach.
The second part of the module encourages students reflect on the paradigm shifts that have taken place in the area of Strategic Management and to propose how various systems methodologies might be drawn in to augment the strategic development process. Student are then encouraged to apply the same process of reflection to the other themes in the MBA.
The student learning outcomes from this module will be:
- Demonstrate a critical understanding of the benefits of adopting a systems approach.
- Apply a range of systems methodologies and models for promoting critical reflection and learning.
- Critically analyse and evaluate how the different systems methodologies and models can lead to an enhanced understanding of how to manage strategy, relationships, knowledge, and the supply-chain.
MDCI would like to remind students to check the requirements for this module and MDCI is sure that students will make the most of the module and enjoy Managing Holistically with Dr Mustapha Koriba.
